I have recently been in a bit of a rut as of late, to the point where my GPA will be below a 2.0 for the spring semester, therefore bringing my cumulative GPA down. I barely passed the fall semester nd I was wondering what might happen to me once the year is over, will I face academic suspension, or what?

It depends on the the school.

At my school you are put on academic probation if you fall beneath a cummulative GPA of 2.0, with the exception of students who have attempted less than 65 credits. In the case of less that 65 credits, those with 0-6 credits must obtrain a 1.0 GPA, those with 7-32 must obtain a 1.60, and those with 33-64 mus tobtain a 1.80. I’d look at your school and see if they have this structure as well, because I’m guesing you have not attempted 64 credits.

If you don’t get your GPA up to the required point by end of a term, then you are placed on academic probation. To be removed you have to jump through a seriers of hoops. You have to omplete the academic probation workshop. Then you have to complete the learning style inventory, and then the college level study skills inventory. Last before you are readmitted into good standing, you have to get your GPA back up and have a meeting with our career and advising services who will then allow you to register for classes. Classes cannot be registered for unless all of these steps are taken.

Those who do not do this will be on academi suspension and I honestly am not sure what happens at that point.

If you receive federal aid or sholarships there is a chance that those will retrated as well. Most schools require a 2.0 to continue receving scholarships.
