A&M or UT Austin??

^^Is your counselor possibly worried about the diversity issues I mentioned earlier? Or maybe the very rural location, versus an affiliation with a large city? Is she worried you won’t fit in at A&M, perhaps, as opposed to being worried about the quality of the education you might recieve there? Just taking wild guesses here …

Your counselor is … weird. I’ve never heard of U Cincinati before. I don’t think A&M (and of coz I mean A&M flagship at College Station, please don’t say that you got admitted to A&M Corpus Christi or something) is inferior to UT. UT might has some edges but not significantly better.

Well, I would like to keep you informed on one last thing: UT awards very very few out-of-state tuition waiver (the tuition waiver given to an out-of-state student who gets a competitive scholarship of more than $1,000 per year) but A&M generally awards more of those waivers (I don’t have the exact number but I know 2 international students at A&M and they both get in-state tuition because they won a scholarship over $1,000 . On the other hand, I know several international students at UT and none has it)

I would pick UT over A&M (very slightly only) if they cost the same and if there is no significant preference of location. However in your situation, I would advise you to go with A&M. Weigh all criteria and good luck with your choice!

Btw, are you awaiting reply from any other school? An Ivy perhaps? If so, an acceptance coming in the next few days will save us this dilemma. lol :))

thanks for all the information guys… and no i’m not waiting for any ivy decisions ( I was rejected from both Harvard and Stanford and i applied to only those.
I think i will be going to A&M
Thanks again to everybody
