This image makes me happy, makes me think, makes me reflect. I think it’s appropriate for this thread, this month.
Very thankful for modern medical interventions. H is a new man today after his cardiac procedure on Tuesday. We didn’t realize just how much the afib was affecting him these last few months until we got the old H back. He is much more focused and alert and, dare I say, pleasant to be around. What a relief!
Now if we can just get some positive medical mojo for my sister, please.
Grateful that at 65 I can still be very active and that I have the time and financial resources to help with that.
Grateful for my husband, kids, son in law, granddaughter, my sister and her family, H’s family and my cousins.
Grateful for my grand dog (even though he can be a pain)
Grateful that I’m still the “go to” person for my D when she’s having a tough day.
Day 3: Today I am grateful for:
A job that allows me to work from home part of the week. Makes the entire week better.
Grateful for the gorgeous, crystal-clear, Chamber of Commerce day for my morning walk!
We picked up lunch at a Japanese restaurant and ate it with my friend that I’ve known over 50 years. She flew in to help get her folks’ home ready to sell. We are in the patio and we’re able to help supervise the delivery of a huge dumpster that she and the family can use to discard decades worth of “stuff.”
In addition, she’s getting a moving box that they will carefully pack and ship to her H’s place in NM that family members can drive to to get items they want. shipping the moving box that’s 6x6x6 or something will cost just under $5000, hnl to NM!
I’m so grateful my brother and S helped discard lots of the stuff at my folk’s ’ place.
I am grateful we have found a Volvo seatbelt assembly to repair H’s 1998 broken one. The mechanic doesn’t seem to have put any effort into securing it, even though H had reached out to him weeks ago!
H and I aren’t fans of the mechanic and H may have to start searching for a new car that can be maintained. The part we located is discontinued and we appear to have found the only one in the US. More and more of his car’s parts are being discontinued.
We can easily afford another car but have analysis paralysis. H loves his ancient car.
Thankful for another beautiful Friday!
Thankful my in-laws (93 and 94) are breezing through their bout with Covid.
Day 4: Today I am grateful for:
A happy and healthy D20. There was a suicide on her campus this week (first year student) and my heart breaks for those left behind. I’m so thankful my D20 is thriving at school.
Wearing shorts and a tshirt to work outside and eat lunch on the deck on Nov. 4 in northern Ohio - grateful since this is one of my favorite “me” things to do!
Very grateful for my day off today! After my workout, I got in my sweats, turned on my heating pad in the recliner, got under the blanket and slept for 2 hours. I did do some light cleaning, but otherwise have enjoyed a day of vegging all by myself
I am grateful my husband and I can do lots of active things together. We’re both retired, and we’re making trips a priority
I’m generally grateful I can stay pretty active without too much pain.
I work hard at staying fit and don’t take the ability to move freely for granted.
Today I am thankful that my son’s game was not canceled! I was sitting on my flight waiting to take off, with a rental car and hotel room booked, when S21 texted to say two of the three flights his team was taking were canceled and they were having a hard time rebooking everyone. They were possibly going to cancel the game.
Fortunately my son’s flight took off, albeit 5 hours late, but rest of team is still awaiting their new flights after arriving at airport at 8am this morning!
Game has been rescheduled from 1pm to 4pm tomorrow since most of team won’t arrive at hotel until well after midnight. Just thankful the game is still on since Dh and I spent a lot of money to come here!
Had an MRI on my knee today. I am thankful that I live in a city with access to top healthcare, I have good health insurance and the ability to pay costs the insurance will not cover.
Thanks to Alcoholics Anonymous, I am celebrating my 4th anniversary today
Continuing gratitude for retirement move to city where D’s family lives. At 3 pm I got a text asking if I wanted to meet them for Mexican food at 5 pm after their daycare pick-up. What a treat to be able to do something so ordinary with them on spur of the moment!
I am grateful for the fabulous sunrise I just witnessed!
Today I am especially thankful for my public library. And that I can walk to it.
