I am very thankful for my state’s choices, and although not all of my local choices panned out, I am happy overall. I am hopeful for the future. Along those lines, I am grateful for all I have, but I am keenly aware that my faith requires me to care about my neighbors.
I’m. so happy—S is arriving today and we get to have a staycation with him and D in Waikiki tomorrow! It should be great fun! Yay!
Fiancée arrives next week and we will have a 2nd staycation with her as we stay at a resort near where our relatives wedding will be. So happy!
Today I’m grateful for the Egg thread. I’m going to be trying some of these out in the next few weeks.
Our neighbors are so sweet. We are awaiting FedEx delivery of H’s seatbelt part for his 1998 Volvo—only new, original part in US, shipping from NC. It should arrive while we are away so our 2 neighbors agreed to be on lookout for it. While chatting with them, I mentioned to one neighbor that H was interested in buying the car neighbor had and asked him about pros & cons. He said, “I’ve only got pros.” Shortly after I got back home, he offered to have H test drive his car so H can have a better idea about whether that’s the car he wants to replace his aging vehicle (that is challenging to service and get parts for).
I am grateful to have such great neighbors!
Grateful that our road trip yesterday went well. Grateful for beautiful weather here in H’s hometown and that I was able to take a long walk this morning.
Yay—my heart is full! Both kids are visiting our home and we have a nice weekend staycation starting tonight in Waikiki! I am very thankful—happy we are all healthy too, at least relatively speaking and not contagious in any event.
Thankful for another really nice day outside and a chance to get a lot of things done - who needs a gym when one has a farm?
And thankful for the holiday season soon to come, starting early for us to adjust to schedules with the kids.
Which leads to thankfulness that our kids all enjoy getting together still, even as adults and even when significant travel is involved to do so. I love that they have remained friends who enjoy each other’s company.
Grateful for a very late in the season beach walk
I’m grateful we are still playing pickleball outside in short sleeves. May be coming to an end for this year though.
I’m grateful for this midwestern summer-like day. H and I had foot long coney dogs outside at our favorite coney place. They had the doors open to the outside, and we were able to eat on the patio in the glorious sunshine.
I’m very grateful this day is almost over and tomorrow is a holiday! One of our software vendors messed up and dropped a couple of us from the group license. Nobody noticed until it renewed yesterday and we were locked out. I do all my work with this program, so it’s been a couple of super long and slow days twiddling my thumbs. Crossing my fingers they get it resolved soon. But twenty more minutes until a 3 day weekend! Soooooo grateful!
Grateful for another beautiful day, a great hour of tennis and for having dinner plans to catch up with two friends whom I haven’t seen in months.
Almost exactly a year ago today, I found out a spot on my face was stage zero melanoma. Today I am thankful, looking back at this time last year when I was caught off guard and worried, that it was caught so quickly. I am also thankful for my plastic surgeon b/c my scar, which is very big on my cheek, is not very noticeable.
Get those skin checks, people!
Grateful to a wonderful friend who is not able to go to Hamilton tonight in San Diego. So D1, D2 and D2’s best friend and I all get to finally see it in person from the 4th row!
Grateful that GD’s little friend is improving. He’s still hospitalized with RSV, but it looks like he will be okay.
Grateful for the closeness between my daughter and I.
Grateful for a nice afternoon walk on what looks to be the last warm day as we move to rain/possible snow dusting /big drop in temps tonight/tomorrow.
My cats are very thankful I got out the Xmas trees. They’ve had a blast hiding in the Xmas tree bags and running all around. I just got up one of the tree’s skirt. We will see how long that lasts.
Yeah, I’m early. But I love it. My cats love it, and we will be out of town for 10 days over Xmas. I want my time to enjoy it.
(And I also take my time doing it now. Everything might not be done until next weekend.)
Grateful that I somehow perfectly timed walking my neighbor’s dog today in b/w two downpours, neither of which was showing up on radar. 30 min walk and got home minutes before it started pouring again.
Thankful that the kids from Puerto Rico arrived and we all made it home safely. Praying for those involved in the car accident that slowed our trip home.
Definitely grateful that the kids love both conversations on anything/everything and game playing (various board games). Games are far more fun with more players.
