A New Acronym For Top Universities

So I see HYPS or HYPSM used in this forum all of the time. I've even seen references to CHYMPS and others...but I have a new and far superior acronym (and it's international!):

PSYCHO

Princeton, Stanford, Yale, Cambridge, Harvard, Oxford

I love it! Come on...it even describes the people who care about only going to a top uni! I expect to see this used more often.

But hardly anyone talks about Oxbridge 'round here...

I know, but I saw a post where someone said HYPSOC and I realized that Oxford provided the vowel we (I?) (so desperately?) needed to make a legit word. With such a perfect acronym Oxbridge will enter the discussion..maybe ;)

i like CHYMPS....

I've always wondered...does C=Caltech or Columbia?

Oh, I like the acronym BYMPSH :p

There have been numerous threads discussing various acronyms and with regard to CHYMPS, most people equate the C to Cal Tech, but you'll always find those who argue that it refers to Columbia or Chicago. Lets not go down that road!!! Besides...CHYMPS and HYPSM are sooo yesterday. PSYCHO is what's new and hot!

Well, I normally say HYPS (I personally don't think it's fair to equate M and C, two tech schools, with 4 non-tech schools), or HYPSM if someone talks about the bunch.

^^ I agree.

hahaha nice one pyscho

Finally. On the 9th post someone who agrees!

Guys, how do you get into Psycho?

Psycho is pretty cool, I agree, but I also don't like to use M and C...just HYPS for me.

I prefer CHYMPS, or for harvard haters, PYMPS.

^^
Awesome. Just awesome.

I personally would never say this acronym to any of my friends because they actually go to those schools and they would just think I was a nerd and would not understand what I'm talking about.

what is the second P in PYMPS? Pomona?

Penn, duh .
