The chicken nuggets at CFA are the BEST, hands down!

But aren’t many of the organizations which claim to be “pro family” also strongly “anti gay”?

Like who? (not arguing - just wondering)

I feel like every time I make a purchase there, I set the gay rights movement back a few minutes. But their chicken biscuits are unbelievable!

That website looks like it’s aimed at young children.

Sounds like Chick Fil A isn’t like KFC. I try to avoid breading on chicken these days to keep the carbs down.

Where are they located? I have never heard of Chick Fil A, In and Out. I have seen a Wa Wa and didnt get the appeal.

Now, Panera Bread…that it another story.

We have a Chick Fil A in a local mall but I generally don’t eat in the mall. I do like Panera Bread but haven’t eaten there in a while - not the best place for low carbs.

I think that students should reject a college for not having a Trader Joes nearby. Better prices, better food, better selection. You just have to cook it yourself.

Wawa? We had one in PA, it’s a convenience store indistinguishable from 711 or Cumberland Farms. Maybe people are attached to the bizarre name.

Love chick fil a food, really like Sonic- I wish we had one closer. And a Wawa is like a 7-11 on steroids.

And I am sure that if I dug deep enough, they would all have business practices that I would disagree with. Donate to organizations I do not like or believe in, have retirement funds in companies that also do business with Apartheid organizations, don’t recycle…I am sure I could find something!

That’s funny - in my family, we boy cot Chick Fil A! (See post #24)

Not only do I not like their politics, I don’t like their food . . . way too salty for me. (But heavy salt, like CFA, is a Southern thing.) I do like their lemonade, however.

By the way, the recruit in the story that started this thread is an idiot. There IS a CFA on Clemson’s campus (in the student union). Perhaps he was upset they wouldn’t put one in the West End Zone (the palace where the football players eat and work-out.)

My son lists Chick-Fil-A as a priority in his college selection. He loves the place.

Panera is on the list here. D feels she can only bear to leave home if she can get Panera chicken soup.

I didn’t know about Chick-fil-A’s ‘charitable giving’ practices-- that sounds like pretty uncharitable giving to me. If I lived near one I would boycott. Though the biscuits, the biscuits…

I’ve seen worse reasons listed here on CC for rejecting a school…

Never heard of Wawa either. To us, the states in that region (PA, MD) are considered southern, Lol. For New Englanders, Dunkin Donuts is THE place. :)

Never heard of Wawa! Best coffee anywhere. The one across the street from W&M is said to be busier at 2 AM than it is twelve hours earlier.

The player had other college options, so why not cross off schools that didn’t have the little things that mattered to him and move on?

I wasn’t aware of the anti-gay thing and I certainly don’t support that position, but I eat where I eat. One of our favorite Dallas restaurants was run by Hare Krishnas and their temple was attached.

WaWa is most definitely distinguishable from 7-11 and other convenience marts. I think WaWa has changed (for the better) a lot in the last 15 years. Their cook to order sandwhiches and breakfasts are excellent (hoagies, steak sandwhiches, pancake/egg combos), they have nice packaged healthy snacks (cheese, hard boiled eggs, etc) and a great selection of coffees and fountain drinks (can add flavors). The stores are large and clean. They carry Wall Street Journal. Good pastries and soft pretzels, too. We do not have them in the South and WaWa is one of my first stops on my frequent trips to the Philadelphia area. I was there last weekend and stopped in every morning after my run.

My D was thrilled to have a Chick-Fil-A, a Panera Bread AND a Dunkin Donuts on her campus. I don’t think she could have been happier. We gave her a Panera Bread gift card for Christmas and she loved it.
