A normal kid looking for suggestions

Ok... I pretty much know what schools I am going to apply too..... but I need some safeties!! All my schools are reaches......I really need some safeties. I live in Arizona....but I really want to go out of state. So I'll give you my stats and hopefully you can give me some suggestions.... BTW I don't want a HUGE school.... and if all possible I want to be near the ocean

Umm here are my stats so you can get an idea of what a safety would be for me (Not ASU) okk
I go to prestigous school
i have a 3.8 weighted gpa
so far i have taken 5 honors classes and 2 Ap

4 years of football

its nice to see people on here that done have 2400 sats and a 4.5 gpa....
ummm.. San Diego State??

Fairfield University in Conn is near the ocean and would be a saftety/match .
http://www.fairfield.edu/x18514.xml

Salve Regina College in Newport, RI, on the ocean, would be a safety.
http://www.salve.edu/about/index.cfm

I've never heard of those

Just because you havent heard of them.. doesnt mean they are not decent schools...
Thanks daffymom

Keep the suggestions coming....... and they can still be big schools... its just i dont want a school like arizona state with 50,000

Bump ..... come on

Pepperdine in Malibu, CA. you can see the ocean from the campus, particularly the cafeteria. The side facing the ocean is glass.

It's very nice there.

http://www.pepperdine.edu/

University of San Francisco

University of Puget Sound

Seattle University

UC Santa Barbara

Humboldt State University

I might think of some more...

what other schools are you applying to?

Pepperdine as a safety?... I am already applying there but as a big reach
Im applying to

Others/reaches
USD
UC santa barbara
santa clara

I can list some more schools in California

St Mary's College of California
Notre Dame de Namur
UC Riverside
Dominican University
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo

And you might want to look into the Claremont Colleges. They are a slight reach for you.

Pitzer
Harvey Mudd
Scripps
Pomona
Claremont McKenna College

Cut out Harvey Mudd. Unless you are pretty obsessed with math/science, I don't recommend it.

maybe ucla

or try to get stanford to recruit you, if you are really good at sports

Im Not D1 material........but thanks for the suggestions
Are the claremont colleges the ones with like 4 univeristies but are all on the same campus???

Any more thoughts/ suggestions

Yeah, they are. I actually just got back from visiting them. My favorite campus was Scripps. My least favorite was Pitzer.

The claremont colleges are Scripps, Pitzer, Calremont McKenna College, Harvey Mudd, and Pomona College.

UCLA: Reach (out of state)

Mudd and Pomona are more than "slight" reaches...

Pitzer is more in your range

University of the Pacific

Thanks..... Flopsy.. would you even recommend me throwing a rec over at UCLA?
