A question about applying restrictive early action?

As you can tell from the thread, I was wondering what I should do if I applied to three schools restrictive early action using the common app by mistake?

All three of these schools are top 10 schools and I was deferred from all of them which came as a sort of shock from my recommenders.

I figured that the restrictive early action meant if you got in that you would agree to go to the school or not at that time which I was fine with, not that you were only supposed to apply to one school early and give your decision in spring. I only learned this a few days ago when talking with a few kids who also applied early.

I applied to over 20 schools and haven't been rejected by any though I've only been accepted by 2 (rolling admission schools). All my interviews looked promising from the alums but they say with these top schools its always a crapshoot. I was wondering what I should do at this point in time and how this screw up really affects my chances come spring for these larger schools?

I know you might be thinking "how did you apply by 'mistake'?". Trust me, I didn't mean to. I've had the same counselor for 3 years and my senior year I've had 3 new counselors because they keep getting switched around which has made this process all the more hectic. Any help from parents who've been through something like this would be REALLY helpful!

Thanks!

Since you’ve been deferred at all three you are now in the RD pool for each. While you should have been outright denied the schools didn’t catch it. If you had caught it you should have had two moved to the RD pool yourself. If anyone asks later be apologetic and truthful. Just let your apps stay where they are.
