A question regarding Internship

Hi!

I was wondering how much do interns get paid? How hard is it to get an internship?

Also, when we are working as interns, are we very productive with our knowledge in school and college?

Thanks!

This question is VERY general has a great deal of variability.

Internship pay depends on your major, industry, academics (school/GPA), your interview and prior experience. I imagine a BS engineer could make anywhere from 0 -6000$ per month–but once again it is VERY variable.

Internships are difficult to get right now due to the economy but once again they vary due to location, major, industry and your relevant experience/academics.

Finally in terms of productivity it, yes you guessed it, depends on the internship. Some specialized majors might use more coursework than others but in general your education provides a base but the internship should provide you with more “hands on” and job training.

Thanks for the replies!

What are the general working hours? Do internships interfere with the college work?

An internship is typically during the summer and shouldn’t interfere with school. Hours vary by industry but typically are 8-9 hours per day. Co-ops occur during the school year and follow the same work day.
