a question..

Does a former rejection from a University have any influence on a present app.? I'm sure the answer is 'no' but I have this vision of them laughing at my app. saying...'why you tryin again girl?'
...anyone?

They will probably say something more down the lines of, 'Why are you tryin*g* again, Girl?'

These are academics we are talking about here!! (TIC)

Oh yes, thank you so much...I really appreciate your help... your wonderful grammar will help you go far in the future...

If you're applying to a large university that receives thousands of applications every year, the only way they would know you've previously been rejected would be if you put a check in the box which says "Have you ever applied to xxx university in the past?".
On the other hand, you may want to state that you have previously applied and then expand on this in your personal statement essay. You can then talk about how you've improved yourself since then (assuming that you have) and why you are worth considering a second time. AdComs love hearing about personal growth and self-improvement.
