A quick Q

Some of you know that I have both a GED and a mediocre HS record.
One of my professors suggested I put the GED scores instead of my
HS record and see if it will make a difference. The transfer advisor at
my CC seems to think that it will make no difference.

I personally think that it may weigh in just a bit considering
that I'll have 31 units at application submit and 45 by the time
I start fall of 08.

So what do you think? Submit GED instead of HS or stick
with the HS transcript? ( btw my HS gpa was 3.3 )

Thanks a lot .

What school are you applying to? All the schools I have seen require you to submit your GED/HSED transcripts AND high school transcripts if you went to a high school. I would look into the schools you are applying to and see if they require both. I mean you didn't graduate from your high school right? If they do not require both, then I would think you can just sent your GED transcript since you graduated with that, not from your high school.

Well my story is that I dropped out of HS ( the first one I went to
for 3 years or so ) to become a firefighter. I got a GED to fulfill
requirements for the position. Then during my firefighting years,
I had a change of heart and finished my HS diploma somewhere
else. Now would that necessarily matter? or would submitting a
GED suffice? I'm looking at BU, UMass Amherst, USC and U of T.
The common app does not specify whether or not I would need
to record both. But my guidance counselor advised it would not
matter if I put in one or both.

I would advise calling the schools and asking them.

Best of luck :)

Thanks a lot . Wish you guys the best as well.
