A quick question about FAFSA

So I applied to 10 schools, and FAFSA award money base on the tuition of the school right?

So do I list all the schools I applied on the FAFSA? and If yes I don't know which one I'm going yet, then how does the FAFSA determine how much money to award me since tuition for each college is different.

I applied more than 10, and on FAFSA I can only list 10?

FAFSA does not give you money. It takes your income (but not your mortgage, unfortunately) and other financial things and tells you an EFC, a dollar amount that you are expected to pay for college (Expected Family Contribution). The FAFSA can be sent to all the schools you applied to and each school will award you an aid package–this depends on the cost of the school. Then you choose between the packages.

No, you can’t list more than 10. I think to send to more than 10 you have to change your college list…ask someone else how to do that.

on FAFSA it ask enter your exemption from 2009 but on my 1040 line 6d is blank

do I fill in 0 or 1(for me)

The FAFSA information is downloaded/uploaded whatever by each of the colleges you indicate. Then the indivdiual colleges make up the financial aid package based on the information and each college’s resources. The govenment does not make decision regarding the college’s indivdiual aid. You list up to ten colleges and if you have more than 10 after that FAFSA is process you open it, delete the original ten colleges and put in any additional colleges and hit send again.

Mom - if you delete the original ten colleges do they still get the info? I was told the same process by FAFSA but now I am very reluctant to do that.
