How do university's generally look at transcripts? Because I've taken a break in school for a couple of years, and am more serious about my schoolwork. I have been looking to transfer this coming year, but when I first started my education my GPA was about 2.76, and coming back to school I have about a 3.88 GPA average, but my earlier education was brings my cumulative GPA down to 3.51 GPA. So I was wondering how that effect things, when it comes to transfers.

Most schools require you submit ALL transcripts. Although that sounds like something you could explain in an essay.

they will weigh the most recent transcript most heavily. i don’t think they weight them all into one cut-off gpa. you do need to send all transcripts
