A reality

I have been reading some students review posts and it is really depressing me. According to that site, every top school has a bunch of snotty jerks who are completely selfish. This makes me sad. I wish people could be happy and make friends. The way to be successful in life is to help others, not compete. UF is looking better every day.

My father went to Princeton. He said it was like that as well. Despite that, I really wanted to apply to Stanford, Princeton, and Duke. However, I am having second thoughts now. Maybe I should save money and go to a state school. Then an Ivy for grad school.

The site itself it blocked on here, but students review dot com tends to be excessively negative. Also, don’t discount the fact that a reviewer doesn’t actually have to be in the school to put a review.

Go ahead and apply, but make sure you visit before you make your choice. There are a ton of really strong schools that have very different social atmospheres from HYPS and the like.

FWIW, I remember being turned off from Duke b/c of the “snotty” attitude I perceived. I liked Vandy, though. (I ended up at Rhodes).
