I know someone who really got screwed(more than me) he got a 1420 on sat in the January sat reasoning. he took it again in may and this guy is at 1960. his math went from 430 to 710. I think some colleges will be suspicious. although he worked hard(really) but to me it seems like a really big jump.

how many ppl actually had an experience of rising a score by almost 600?

A big jump may raise a "flag" with the ETS Office of Testing Integrity, but by itself is not considered "suspicious." Any test score that is released by ETS is considered "kosher" by the colleges.

flag... i am gonna retake in OCT, hoping for the same thing to happen,,, right now i am planning on taking all practice test in every book i think is good(about 4), through the summer.

i went from 1860---2110, probably could have been higher considering my two friends were in an accident the night before and I found out literally two seconds before I started. Just do a lot of prep, learn the strategies.

My PSAT scores went from 184 to 201 in one year, without studying. It's explainable though. I just cared more the second time. I just took the June SAT so I don't know how I did on that. I REALLY feel like I got 2400 or something close. It was so easy!

Anyway, colleges know that people are dynamically multidimensional. We live and learn. Besides, the SAT is a test of reasoning ability. I don't see why an admissions officer wouldn't see the leap as an improvement in ability to reason, which is good to say the least.

Sorry to hear about the accident, Imfrommaine4. Great score tho.

I would be slightly surprised by a 430 to 710 math, but not overly so. I mean, how does one even get a 430 math? Did he guess on all of the questions the first time?

lol, believe me it's easier than you would think. My May SAT score was pretty darn close to that... just a taaad bit higher. I'm not as bad at math as my score reflects though and i plan on a big jump for the Oct or Nov test.

Does anyone know for certain if admissions officers pay attention to or care about large score increases??

wow, nice replies. actually he guessed like 28 questions, he told me he wasnt good with time constraints. but i am really working on one thing right now
