<p>I know these questions may seem silly to some of you, but I'm wondering if anyone has an idea! The first pertains specifically to RiceU. The others, while pertaining to Rice, also pertain to Georgetown, Pomona College, WashU, UCLA, USC, and Tufts.</p>

<ol>
<li>Will being from California (and not Texas) help or hurt me? To what extent?</li>
<li>Is Middle Eastern seen as a source of diversity, or is it simply categorized as white? I know that on the common app I'd indicate caucasian and then middle eastern. How does this all play out?</li>
<li>Will my lack of school academic awards/awards is general hurt? I have some awards for music, but my school doesn't give academic based awards and I haven't received (other than AP scholar and national merit commended-- hopefully) any regional/national awards...</li>
<li>Would submitting a music supplement help?</li>

5. Is it beneficial, detrimental, or neutral to be the only one from my school applying Rice ED?</p>
