A shot at Vanderbilt?

I'm applying regular decision to Vanderbilt, here is what I have to offer:

SAT I: V 580 M 570
SAT II: Writing 550 Math I 480
ACT composite: 25

G.P.A. (unweighted): 3.4
I attend a competetive boarding school

Have had summer jobs interning at a leading design-build firm creating computer 3-D models, have had extensive training at political campaigns, and I've been ice cream worker.

I have run Varsity XC (captain) and track, student body president, dorm prefect (similar to RA in college) newspaper editorial writer, Model-UN vice-president, democrats club president and founder, green team co-president, and Headstart volunteer 2 hrs./week

I am also receiving a recommendation from a high-ranking Vandy administration official. My essay is unique and memorable, my teacher rec's will be outstanding.

I will be a third generation legacy at Vanderbilt.

Tell me what you think...

Sorry... Maybe the legacy status will do a lot.

hmmmm...great ecs but try to raise ur SAT scores..i think it's worth a shot you never know

You are a little on the low end for Vanderbilt, but send that application in there, and see what comes out of it.

Good Luck,

Jerod

thanks for the help. i know vandy regards leadership qualities highly.

do you think early decision 2 would be a better route?

I hear legacies applying to Vanderbilt are getting turned down more and more often these days...

Vanderbilt relies more on who you are, not who someone else is.

I also heard an extremely wealthy alum recently donated a large sum with the condition that more legacies be accepted.
