The application i fiiled about work experience is 12th, by which i thought it meant since 12th grade in high school, because it only give me 9th,10th,11th etc to choose from. So, it means ive been working for 3years.
however, today when i viewed, i find 12th means ive been working for 13years, and it is a huge mistake.
what can i do? contact each individual campus to make a correction?
guys, please give me your generous help.

Well, what you're supposed to do is to send any and all changes to ucinfo@ucapplication.net with your name and ID# (and if you want contact each campus in addition)

However, they already sent the random verification notices so you could be in the clear, anyway

How do you know that they already sent the random verification?

I think you got it right the first time. If you check the box that says 12th then you're saying you've been working since your senior year, and you're suppose to indicate how many years it has been since. 9, 10, 11, and 12th do refer to grade level. Read page 10, #53 here: http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/undergrad_adm/apply/pdf/APPInstructions_TR.pdf

I have to say that was the most confusing part of the application. I hope I got it right, because I have been working every since my high school senior year, but at different jobs. I don't see why they couldn't have put in a field for "date from / date to" for the jobs, rather than their confusing "how many years past the 12th (grade?)," or whatever it says. All of my other college apps had "date from / date to" fields for jobs.

"Employment: List and describe briefly your paid employment. Check
the appropriate box(es) to indicate the year(s) you were employed and
the beginning and ending dates and average number of hours per week
of employment. Indicate your period of involvement at a specific job:
year-round, summer only or school year only. If you were employed
after graduating from high school, check “After 12th” and enter the
number of years."

The same kind of thing is relevant for the Extra Curriculars. I must be reading this wrong.

On the app, it says "Years Involved - After 12th:"

I read this as "how many years after 12th grade did you do this activity?" - not the number of years I did the activity.

This is what I put for one of the jobs, which I started 7 years after 12th grade, but held for only 4 years:

"Position: xxx
Years Involved After 12th: 7 years
Start-End Date Jan 1995 - Sep 1999"

What exactly do they mean by "years involved after 12th"? Do they want 4 years involved (total time I spent on the job or activity), or 7 years involved (after 12th)? This is like a bad word problem in math...

thedude, pg 14 of http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/undergrad_adm/apply/pdf/APPInstructions_TR.pdf reads:

"The University conducts a pre-admission verification with a random
sample of applicants who are notified in early January that they
must submit verification documents to be considered for admission.
Applicants may be asked to verify an item from one of the following
application sections: Honors and Awards, Extracurricular Activities,
Volunteer Work and Community Service, Educational Preparation
Programs, Employment, Self-Reported Academic Record and the Personal
Statement. Falsification is the basis for a denial or revocation of
admission to the University. Failure to submit the required documentation
by the deadline will result in applications being withdrawn from
further admission consideration at all campuses."

also, heres a tread of ppl that got the letter
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-general/446262-gah-got-letter-supplement-verify-application.html

Damn. I wish I put I was congressman for my extracurriculars now! J/k
Thanks for the info.

I'm so glad I didn't get that letter to verify my extra circulars, haha.

Lol, I did the same thing. I put for both volunteer work and for work exp.: the number of years after 12th grade that I started.... So I put 4 years after 12th, but after reviewing my app, it looks like it says I have been doing it for 4 years.

Sounds like alot of people make this mistake, and since I went to school in Colorado for the years before I started, Im sure they will understand that I was not involved in those activities then, and then understand what I meant to say.

so, anyone think it is worth sending them an email to correct this?
