A simple question!

Hi all,

As I read the many threads on CC, I cannot understand how you put some quotes in grey blocks, and how to add a smiley face. Can someone please explain that to me? Sorry to take up your time with such drivel, but it irks me that I don't know how to do those things, and I like the way it looks. Thanks.

When you post, click the "go advanced" button, at the very bottom of that page, you can click on the smilies and it gives instructions ;)

Go to the main page....click on FAQ and then posting & reading messages. If you need explanations following your reading...which you might....come back and folks will help you. Not a problem.

for the gray quote boxes, type
insert text here
without the space before the close bracket. It should look like this:
insert text here
For the smily face, type <colon> <open pararenthisis="">
Should look like this: :)</open></colon>

Thanks. I got the smiley faces down...now just working on the shading thing, not so easy!

Im not getting the smilies any more (SADFACE) :(

Anybody else?

My "disable smilies in text" box is NOT checked.. so what gives? :)

Anything I put after a colon just disappears... : : : :)

rolleyes inside colons
eek inside colons
mad inside colons

OK, why isn't that a smiley?

that is a smiley

Hmmm...... [ quote="Anybody" ] Hmmm..... [ /quote ]
