A strange case...

So here's where I'm sitting:

I'm currently attending a four year art school. I'm studying photography. I enjoy photography, but it's become obvious that I made a bit of a mistake–I hate pretty much everything about the schooling here. I've been doing game design for the past six years or so, and it's proven to be my true passion. I make a lot of money doing it, too–last year, working purely in my spare time (when I wasn't busy being a full time student or doing other things), I made close to $30,000. I know that working full time would net me a whole lot more. I'm pretty damn positive that I could do this as a career and be happy. But now I'm in a strange spot, in that I'm already in college. I have a built in prejudice that tells me that you just sort of have to go to college in America, because it's what's expected of you.

The best remedy that I can think of at this point would be finding education at a community college that would supplement my current work. No one cares about a degree in this field, so I'm purely in it for the actual education. So that leaves two questions:

1) What degree would help me the most, if I'm basically working freelance? Actual "game design" degrees would prove pretty useful to me at this point because of how long I've been working on this stuff, so I'm looking into things like business or accounting–I already know how to make the games, but I figure it can't hurt to know how to handle the money. The CC near me has a Business Management degree and an Accounting degree (both Associate's). Would these be of any use to me?

2) What are the logistics of switching from a four year school to a CC? I don't think I've heard of anyone doing that. Would they be looking at my current college transcript? Or would I basically just leave and pretend it never happened? None of my credits from here would transfer to the new school, since I'm taking things like 2D Design and Color Theory.
