What is an honest assessment of the average or most of their standard of living when they grow up? How do they fare in terms of quality of life? Because I read somewhere that they still make enough for a living, and are often always happier throughout their lives than "ambitious" people who achieve.... now that's scary.

The books I've read have dealt with the nature of happiness... "The Happiness Hypothesis" "Paradox of Choice" "Flow" and more.

Uh, well I’m a senior in HS, I’ve been drinking and partying since my junior year, and I think anyone will tell you that I’m just fine. Been accepted to some great schools and I’m very happy. Can’t say what the future holds in terms of my happiness in the long run but for now, I’m great.

Ummm are you seriously asking this? There are a LOT of people who drink/smoke/party every weekend that get into amazing colleges. My family friend did all 3 and got accepted to Brown, Columbia, and I forgot the last Ivy but yeah…just cause you do those does NOT mean you’re stupid.

The top kid in our Senior class smokes and deals Marijuana. He also is notorious for having very large parties at his house. Explains a lot about my school…

ZOMGGGGGG DRINKING!!11111 leik that means ur dumb rite?

**** i drink and i got into penn and chicago. drinking, partying means nothing. smoking and doing hardcore drugs, maybe, but social drinking? no

One of my closest friends got a full-ride to Yale and he drinks and smokes every weekend. I have another friend who doesn’t drink or smoke: He’s going to CC.

Lesson: Don’t assume, and you can finish the rest of the proverb

Looks like a lot of people that are being referred to in this thread should thank their lucky stars they didn’t get busted. There’s also this proverb about luck but I can’t recall what it was…

^avoiding the cops is skill, not luck. as for dealing with cops, all you need is the ability to understand and utilize your status as an American citizen with a Bill of Rights.

Don’t get busted? Have you ever kissed a girl…let alone TOUCH one (or vice versa)? OP, you need to get out some more. Do you have ANY friends at all? A lot of people have the tendency to think the majority of CCers are just nerds with glasses who play video games all day while getting straight A+'s but not getting any “arse” whatsoever.

There’s always a time for everything. In the long run, education > parties but life isn’t all academics so I’d like to have a balance of both worlds. Life is what you make of it, so let’s make it memorable.
