A Thread for People Taking The Dec. 5 SAT!

@Sci-Fry- yuppp im international- Saudi Arabia =D

ohhhh i feel like it was good- but i just cant WAIT till i see loww scores on CB.
i hate that feeling when you think you did really well, only to find out than you did poorer than before.

everyones saying that it was really easy- what if we have a really LOW curve =S ahhhh

^ I think the curves for us internationals are preset, and when I took the international test in June the curves were pretty deadly. But I get what you mean - your scores pop up in a split second and you almost don’t have time to process it. I even have to use a calculator to add my scores because of my nerves…

really? i didnt know they were preset… dont they depend on how everyone does? so… internationals are graded on a curve seperate to those who took it in the us? is that a good thing?

yeah, same!! haha, i love how as soon as the scores come out, theres a posting frenzy on CC.

Yup curves are predetermined! Read it somewhere on CB. Therefore who takes the test with you has absolutely no effects on your scores!!

Just a HYPOTHESIS: Maybe they use the equating sections from previous tests as real sections for a later test and determine the curves based on the performance of the people who took it as the experimental!
Otherwise, I see NO POINT of the experimental section being there!

smart thought there, ssnmonster. never thought of it that way

somehow that seems slightly creepy cause it makes so much sense  ahhh. well then i hope the ppl who took it before us didnt do so well lol

Exactly my thoughts!
Lets just hope for the best!!!

Finished just half an hour ago…gosh, I hate getting up early. Plus here it’s cold in the mornings, so my hands were still half-frozen when I was scrambling for my essay.

…gr. The 25 minutes allotted for essay seemed shorter than usual (sheds tear). I realized I couldn’t go for five paragraphs at five-minutes left call, so I had to crappily split my body into two to cram in a four. It. Sucked. (which, incidentally, rhymes with the four-letter word beginning with “f” that describes my current post-finish condition)So. Freaking. Badly.

I think I liked my intro, really solid, but it was certainly a bit long. Strong thesis, strong thesis support structure throughout, answered their question well, and wrapped up my opinion again in the last part…even though it sounded blunt and lamishly cut off. Two pretty nice examples, one from history, one from personal experience. The stupid/overly-original topic I really couldn’t find classic literary examples from if you get what I mean…What a horrible test. (finishes sore loser rant and starts bawling)

reading: was better than usual (I am happy with anything 680+)
math: I got one wrong (at least) (hopefully I did ok)
writing: seemed easy (but I always think that) (700+ is phenomenal to me)
