a thread for us intls taking the SAT in November

Yes you should retake the 2 c and while you study get a math course book to study for the topics you are weak in...well spending 3 days on Barrons 2C, a whole day, from 7 in the morning till evening, the friday right befor the SAt 2 i spent studying physics(Princeton Review)...yes that was all the physics i syudied for SAt 2...and a week or so with Barrons writing got me
Math 800 physics 790 and writing 700

On barrons i rarely got more than 35 raw score...it was usually between 27-34. DID a real test and it gave a 43 raw score.
The Key to my scores in SAT 2 is i suppose was continuous study....i knew i had only a week and i studied continuously, taking notes while i studied....dont ask me how i did physics well i studied the topics i had no clue about ..like waves and relatavity...the practice questions at the end of chapters are really important ...they are a bit difficult ...but they are the questions that take your score from 750 to 800.
As most of the questions are theoratical, you need to know all the formulas but what is important is the effect changing one thing will have on the other.
e.g F=mv^2/r like what will the force be if we double speed...etc...you people have got time so please thoroughly study electricity and magnetism and the static charge...these topics are really important and i found them tricky...

As far as writing is concerned ...i was really lucky to get such a score...for u people it still 15 days...so go through the books thoroughly and practice as much as you can if you arent that good at English....to improve the score it is important to know what kind of errors you make..its usually the same incorrigible habit...but do watch for it when you sit for the test

Wonder what SAT scores get u scholarship

I broke a 1500 (1520 to be exact) on the October SAT. All I did was take a practice SAT once a week (practice is key!) under timed conditions. After taking each test, I would submit my answers online and for computerized feedback on my performance at grading.testmasters.com (a free service). Then I would print out my score report and sit down and go through my mistakes. After doing this for several tests, I realized I was missing the same types of questions over and over....and it allowed me to focus my studying to fix these problems. BTW.....I had a 1290 before the summer.

Great!! Cograts...thats really wonderful!!!
