A to Z: What To Bring To College

Febreeze (or some type of air/fabric freshener)

A PLAYSTATION 3!! Especially if you’re a guy now come on boys.

Always bring enough cash for emergencies. Say $500 in hard cash in case you need to access money immediately.

You forgot stuffed animals.

I think it really does depend on how focused you plan on being while at college. The number one reason for mediocre grades for undergraduates has been linked to spending too much time playing video games. If you’re hoping for straight A’s then bringing a game console might not be the best idea.

Yeah, I’d recommend leaving the TV and the games at home. Do work, sons.

Ipod, longboard. :)

I think the information described in your thread is really excellent.

I don’t know if this has been mentioned before, but a good, sturdy umbrella. Now that it’s (sort of) started raining I see a lot of people walking around with umbrellas in blue and gold  Seems they forgot about it and had to buy one from the store. I don’t think there’s anything maroon/red in that building…not even very much in green.

Hello everybody! Tell me please where i can learn after grade 9 class(15 years) in Finland? I`m from Russia.
Are there any colleges after 9 class in Finland?
Thank you)

Bring a car. That way you don’t have to move your whole life in just a few hours :stuck_out_tongue:

This has been such a fantastic list to work from. I am moving into a college at Melbourne Uni to work as a tutor (sought of an RA and TA combined) whilst I study. Even though I get a few extra ammenities like my own bathroom, lounge room, and kitchenette this list still featured almost everything I needed! I have soughted this list in excel, including the extra recommendations, into different sheets labelled by genre. If anyone would like it feel free to PM me with your email address.

I’m surprised I haven’t’ seen this but: One of those single-cup coffee makers! They’re cheap, easy, quick, and delicious! And the fact that they can make tea or hot chocolate when coffee doesn’t suit is wonderful for me. The only challenge is keeping up with buying the cups, but one box lasts pretty long, at least in my house of 5 coffee addicts XD

Just read this whole thread–super helpful!

Girls: Tampons.

Let’s just keep in mind that smart phones and laptops can house many of the following items so you don’t have to haul them off to college: alarm clock, scientific/graphing calculator, planner, address book, favorite novels (nook app/e-reader), dictionary (regular and language translation), guitar tuner, metronome, voice memo recorder, relatively HQ digital camera, compass, calendar, CD collection, DVD player, etc.

I fully embrace the abilities of technology to prevent me from forgetting everything but my own head.

Graphing calculator in a phone or laptop?

Laptop. Of course, I’d bring my own fancy TI or whatever if I was a math-related major (totally am not), but most of the online ones aren’t too bad for basic/general functions, no pun intended. There may be a graphing calc phone app somewhere, but I know that iPhone only comes with scientific.

If you live in a state like Wisconsin, plenty of sweatshirts and sweatpants.

Sunscreen. I just love sunscreen. :frowning: Can’t get enough.
