Does a year at prep school seem to fly by, or drag on? Also, how long does it take to adjust to the new lifestyle?
It totally depends on the person. For me, boarding school seemed to last a long time, but I loved it, so I didn’t mind. I think part of it is that when you’re young, time seems to go by more slowly then when you’re older. As far as adjusting, if you get involved in extracurriculars and sports early on it makes it easier to fit in, as you will meet more people that way. It also keeps you from getting homesick. So jump right in, and remember that everyone is in the process of adjusting just like you are. If you have a hard time, find a teacher or house counselor to talk to. They can be a great resource.
