Which of the following SAT II's should I retake for admission to HYPS??? I know that they only consider your top 3 so the ones I was going to retake in October and feel am most confident to improve are Math IIC, Physics, and USH. However, should I just retake the last HORRENDOUS three here(I didn't really study for these and still thought I could do well) so I can have 5 SAT II scores at 700 or above and have no blemishes on my resume???

Math IIC-760
USH-720
World History-620
Literature-620
Physics-580

Any opinions guys/girls??? Thanks in advacne!!!!!:)

"Asian-ish Dilemma"? Indeedy-deed. "Complex"? Not so much.

THE OFFICIAL DECREE:

For your appallingly atrocious test scores, you are hereby anathematized by the entire Asian community! Utterly disgraced, you are to linger among us yellow-skins no longer and tarnish our flawless reputation no more, you scholastic ignoramus!

...

(If you're confident that you can pull 700+s for the "HORRENDOUS three," I would personally go for those.)

yipes,
make sure to take those three over... ONLY if you have the confidence, if not don't even bother. Becuse I got a REALLY low score on my world history and I never want to see world history SAT Ii or AP ever AGAIN. haha.
So good luck!

well i d say take the math 2 c and try to get 800 or something along with the 2 Horrendus Ones, Excluding World because World is only offered in december and june i believe? so if ur a senior right now (which i am guessin u are) then u probably wont have time to take it anyways...

retake all of them. If you dont get 800s, you might as well commit suicide. cuz with those scores, you might as well find a comfortable place at the homeless shelter.

I'm not generalizing people here but why do specific groups have to be so hard on themselves? I understand that when it comes to college admissions Asians are most often compared against other Asians and vice versa for Latinos, Whites, African-Americans, etc,etc etc but people have to realize that they're buying into a "binge" culture. Colleges have fostered a competitive culture where specific groups feel pressured to raise the bar and the struggle to appear "flawless" by any means has now become the struggle for one's existence

I think it just depends on your community. I live in a close knit mostly white community where success and money are highly valued. It gets very competitive, regardless of ethnicity.

why did you take so many SATIIs to begin with? you only need 3 and should have taken them in the subjects you felt best in. having said that, i think you should try to get 700+ on all. if you apply engineering, you will almost need 800 on math IIC and physics to be a very competitive candidate at these schools.
