how many hours of class do you take per week during a freshman year ?

probably around 15 hours on average, unless you want to double major, or any of those combinations, then it should be a little more, say around 17. I think engineering majors need about 17 or so too, per semester, not sure though.

I'm thinking of having concentrations in both visual art and film. Can I even do that? I didn't see anything about a film concentration online, just the major. Is a "concentration" comparable to the minor that most colleges have or is it tougher?
At Columbia, can you do a concentration in any of the departments?

Columbia has minors, concentrations, and majors, in increasing order of requirements. There are also "premedical concentrations."

I'm taking 15.25 hours of class this semester for a total of 17 credits. Most first-year students take 15 to 16 credits per semester (4 to 5 courses).
