A Waste of $65

Yea I know chance threads are stupid, but I couldn't resist making one here.

Should I save my $74.50 or use it for a 7.45% chance of getting accepted at Harvard? :)

I've already applied to 12 schools. I've been deferred by Yale. Should I try here?
Was the Yale deferral a "soft let-down" or do I have a chance.

OTHER STUFF: ASIAN FEMALE, pre-med most likely

ill be honest with you...yes, u are extremely qualified and u know it.

do i think u will make it? No. sorry, but there are just so many asians with ur stats and other than ur Stanford hospital extracurricular, i see no other hook-like factor. so, yes, it would be a waste of 65 bucks........BUT, there is always that chance that u could make, so i say GO FOR IT. i mean why not? what if? GOOD LUCK :)

Haha "No i don't think you will make it. But go for it"

So helpful!

yea there are others like you but some of that group get in. apply to a bunch of schools and youll get in somewhere. duh apply

Nobody can make this decision for you. It's your choice and yours alone.

u misunderstood me completely....
but ill reiterate it one more time,
i, personally, BigWeighter, moi, myself, do not think u will make it. (I am only one person though, and I am also not the adcom)

but i am encouraging you to apply because u never know; admissions are really really random, so the adcom might actually like ur subjective parts like essays and rec's, so still do it.

and thanks for the sarcasm, i was only trying to help.

^Haha, your mixed response kind of didn't help. It sounded exactly like what I was thinking, actually. Sorry.

I was kind of hoping somebody would make a decision for me. Haha. Okay this is just plain trolling.

apply
nothing to lose (well, i guess the money) and everything to gain

Well, if you really want to get into an ivy league school and apply to all of them, there is significant cash to lose laughs at himself

heh

I'm guessing you did the exactly that, georgelopez?

You are another typical poster who know's he's qualified and just has to post for the sake of posting. Why wouldn't you apply? Everything's in the range and you only have one shot. You'll end up paying hundreds of thousands in the long run so what's an extra 75? You are either really nervous and paranoid or obnoxious.

Yeah, don't worry about me tho. I don't ALWAYS have nightmares about getting all rejection letters and being hundreds of dollars poorer.

"You are either really nervous and paranoid or obnoxious."

HAHA. I'm like everything bad you could possibly say... you're quite right.

I'm a girl btw. not that it matters.

georgelopez, i don't get nightmares... i only did this thread because i am a CC troll...

I was going for grammar so it doesn't matter. And I like the fact that you can admit that. You are less obnoxious than I thought, maybe just borderline annoying.

HAHA I'm annoying as **** and I know it. :)

Trolling on CC is really amusing. IDK.

My parents told me to save the money because they said I don't have a chance. WHich is what i Kind of believe deep down inside, if i had to choose between yes or no. But I'm the type who wants to hear encouragement from wonderful CC'ers like yourselves.

So that's why I posted. :)

No one here qualifies to make a decision for you. FYI this forum is 90% opinions, 5% facts, and 5% trolls.

StevenWheatland made a great point, not that you're "either really nervous and paranoid or obnoxious", but that "You'll end up paying hundreds of thousands in the long run so what's an extra 75?"

"Everything bad you could possibly say" - HI WELCOME TO THE INTERNET

Never mind then, you're not even annoying, you're funny. I was hoping to get an angry reaction from you like I would with any other person who's always on here. But for real, you definitely have a shot at Harvard. Take your parents credit card number down and just apply if you have to.

I've got my own credit card, heck I don't even wanna tell my parents. haha.

Aw, that's too kind of you. But yea CC is full of insecure people. Not that i'm not insecure ;)

The thing is though: Harvard has all these spaces for "extra awards" and I really have NOTHING to put there..... which kind of discourages me. :(

After I finish my ****ing Brown essay, I'm gonna completely forget about college stuff and indulge myself in food and video games. Honestly, right now, after writing about 6 maybe 7 essays during Christmas break, I couldn't care less about getting into college. I have a full ride to a crappy state college for music anyway so wth I'll just go there.

Make up the awards. and yeah, I have brown's application that I "should" be doing right now. The supplement is great: "how did you find out about Brown???" ah, it's brown?
