Im going to Fordham this Fall and let's say some other kid is going to Duke/Brown/Columbia/etc. Lets say a decade later we are both applying for the same job and we both graduated from the same grad school. Now let's say I do better than that person going to Brown or w/e as an undergrad and as a grad. Who will be given preference for the position? The funny thing is that there are several kids who I know are going to ivies and my gpa and sat were higher than their's, go figure....

So basically, you’re asking if superior performance at UG1 (which is less prestigious than UG2) and G will look better than inferior performance at UG2 and G? Do I have this right?

Absolutely. Employers care a lot more about high performance in college and, particularly, grad school than in high school.

School attended will not matter a decade down the road. It will be all about what you have shown you can do on the job.

hmm good point but I’m guessing that schools matter in determining your salary, no?

A lot of it depends on the company/business and employer.
