I wrote one (see title), and it's 263 words when it's supposed to be 250 max. I don't know if they will care, but I feel bad about using too many. Anyone know if they will care? Also, if I would greatly appreciate it if I could get some input on it. Thanks.

if you want to pm it to me, I'll read it and give you my honest opinion.
i'm applying to schools this year as well, but I'm done with my essays and am not considering stanford.

Send it over, I'd love to see.

Sent, and sent. I hope that the people requesting don't intend to mimic any of this, cuz that would just make us both look bad :-D

I'll read it!

And by the way, I think it is 250 words minimum, not maximum, so you're perfect!

PM it to me! I'll be happy to critique it.

250 word minimum - confirmed.
i'll take a look if you PM it over.

As it turns out I have another 308 characters to throw in :D!

pm me! i'll take a look at it

I'll bite, bring it on!

Send it over!!

So... From the feedback I've gotten so far, it seems like my topicality MAY be a problem. Some people have commended me for not kissing too much a** and staying unique, while others have said that it will hurt me. I'm not sure because I see the reason in both sides. If someone has a convincing argument on either side, I would love to hear it.

You don't have to kiss too much a**,be a confident person, Stanford would like to see people who are independent, people for whom Stanford is just the next logical step, not people who beat the heads of the adcoms making their comments loud that Stanford needs them, or so-n-so. No pleading. Just make all your arguments logical and scientific!
