I was under the impression that, as far as semester grades go, the highest obtainable grade was an A, equivalent to a 4.0. But today I logged in to webstac, knowing that at least some of my grades would be posted. And to my surprise, in a course of mine, I had an A+ showing.

As to the particulars, this was a UCollege course, so perhaps they have a different scheme from Artsci. Or perhaps I was mistaken and an A+ can be had anywhere hear but in the College of Engineering (since they don't do the +/- system).

Either way, is that weighted as a 4.0, or even more than a 4.0 (like with the LSAC system)? And will it be displayed on my official transcripts as such?

A+ are 4.0s. As far as I know, ArtSci and Business both give out A+s. There’s no GPA benefit but it looks better on the transcript.

It will be displayed as an A+ on your transcript.

A+'s can be given out by any teacher, in any school.
Outside of engineering, it still counts as a 4.0 (4.0 is the max, so A+'s count the same as A’s). In engineering, it still counts as a 4 (since +'s and -'s don’t count, even though a teacher can still give a grade as +/-).

Ya i’ve had an engineering teacher give out an A+… still counted as a 4.0…

Semi-off-topic, does anyone know if switching schools recalculates your GPA, or do you just keep your GPA and later grades are added in by the new school’s method? (I’m switching from A&S to Engineering, and am wondering what happens to my +/-'s…

I am under the impression that the grade received in a UCollege course does not affect your GPA on the WUSTL transcript. Your grade is treated like a transfer from another school, and is transfered to your WUSTL ArtSci transcript as credits only. Is this true?

oh right- I totally missed where the op said it was a UCollege course.

At least for engineering, UCollege courses shouldn’t count in the gpa since it counts as a transfer class.
