Does anyone honestly know chances of an African-American student getting a bid to a predominantly white fraternity? I am applying as a transfer to Vandy and if I get in would want to rush one. I'm just looking for an honest opinion. has any one done it? How was it ?

“Chances” are nebulous - it depends on the campus, the fraternity, and the particular chapters of the fraternities at Vanderbilt, as well as the individual members. I do know that nationally, there are lots of African Americans (and other ethnic minority group members) in NIC fraternities. I would say that chances are pretty high that you can rush ONE of the fraternities there, as long as you’re relatively open about which one you want. But it’s impossible to gauge your chances of the individual chapters, unless there are some people here who are members of those chapters or intimately familiar with them.
