Aaah just got a call from an admissions officer

Noticing his other posts on other threads, I believe StevenWheatland enjoys jabbing innocent CCers with his humorous barbs.

…shakes head

@Jessephen I live in the caribbean so it would be impossible for me to get an on campus interview right now.

@StevenWheatland Technically, this is not a second interview because I never had one scheduled. This would be my first interview.

I guess that would be a little tough :)

stevenwheatland-don’t get too alarmed, you already got into Brown (you got a 5 pm check-in time). You should be very satisfied with that-anyways you are the funniest poster on CC and I think you are hysterical.

I second that- stevenwheatland deserves to get in to all his schools. Harvard would be a better place with his wit and humor.

Haha, maybe I’m reading different posts from Stevenwheatland than the rest of you but aside from his post #19 (which was blatantly sarcastic), he just seems like a complete a**hole to me.

steven-

you are stupid

that is all

You know, I wouldn’t say no to a FIRST interview. Wish I got one.

rabar, my sentiments exactly --;

to the guy who wants to call

please do. if you get rejected, thats one more space that might open up for me.

wow same thing happened to a friend of mine

First interviews… second interviews… phone interviews…I don’t know how to interpret any of them.

My son is at Harvard. He never had an interview due to scheduling conflicts and the fact that he never thought he’d get accepted anyway (so why bother). One of his high school classmates got called back for a second interview, got all excited by the attention and then was rejected. Go figure…

I did not get one yet, though my friends in the school did. Good or bad? I am accepted by MIT and Yale. Thanks.

Well my phone interview was pretty good. The interview was very nice and she basically told me that my performance in the interview would in no way determine whether or not I was admitted. Rather, it was to get to know me better. However at the end of the interview, she did ask me if there was anything I wanted her to tell the committe. So, I figured they were going to vote on my decision pretty soon. Hopefully, they’ll all vote yes.

D went for her second interview on Monday at Harvard with an admissions officer. He did tell her that calling her for this interview meant they were seriously considering her. She said he was very nice and it was a 45" conversation - not grilling her or anything just talking. Who knows?! I don’t expect her to get in but I guess there is still hope!

Okay… here is my question. Does getting interviewed necessarily mean that you have made it pass the first cut? Or do universities just try to interview AS MANY as applicants as they can…
I have interviewed with Yale, Princeton, Harvard, and Dartmouth and received a Likely from Dartmouth…

I personally do not consider myself a SUPER strong candidate, but I was just wondering. Have these schools interviewed me because they were vaguely interested in me? Or just because there were interviewers available in my area???

Be honest… I can take it… ha

I believe most of those schools try to interview every candidate if there is an alumnus in their area (which with their diversity there are alum in many areas). My D got her first interview with an alumnus in early December - her app was in by Nov 4th. This second interview directly with the admin officer at this late date is what threw us off.
Anyway to all: decisions are just less than two weeks away!! Then all the waiting is over and you can turn the tables on all these colleges and decide if you want them!!! :)
