So last year I started off in honors pre-calc but switched into College Prep because I had way too much on my plate at the time and didn’t want my GPA to suffer (I finished the first quarter with a B- ). I want to go into business and for UMich Ross preferred admit they look for AP Calc. Would it be impossible to take AB without having the accelerated pre-calc? I am pretty smart (35 ACT) and would work at it with a tutor.
I think you should talk to the person who teaches AP Calc. They would probably be able to tell you how other students from your school who went from regular precal to AP Calc have done in the past.
Agreed. The last several weeks of honors pre-calc usually covers the first few topics of the AB curriculum, so the question of how to best bridge the knowledge gap comes into play.
