Aberrant Common App Essay Ready for Review?

Hello all! I'm trying to write a presentable Common App essay, but I've got a couple of issues with it. First: it's over 500 words long. Does it wander? Should I cut it? Second: it's a wee bit (well, a large bit) strange and flibbertigibbety in places. I wasn't really writing towards a specific prompt (I don't even know what they are, haha). Is that bad? Third: does it do enough praising of my virtues and all that jazz, or does it do too much storytelling?

Any other commentary would be welcome as well, of course. Lemme know if you would like to take a gander and I'll PM it to you!

Thank you,
Eszebel

Sure, PM it to me and I’ll try to answer all those questions for you. As for your second question (or at least the last part of it), one of the prompts for the Common App essay is to create your own prompt so it is perfectly fine that you didn’t write to any specific topic.

I’ll read it!

Thanks! PMed it to both of you.

Anyone else?

I’ll read it

I’ll read it and answer your questions and give suggestions!

I’ll be happy to read it and try to help answer your questions.
