I am an international student and I am applying to upenn cornell nyu and a few other schools
i hope to get into an ivy since they offer generous aid but theyre not need-blind for international students. i will be able to pay about 2500 usd a year will it affect my application acceptance?
Your ability to pay will be considered when your application for admission is reviewed. So, it might affect your admission chances. These schools do not have a bottomless pit of money…and are need aware for international students to help them limit the amount of need based aid they actually need to give out.
IF you get accepted, your need will be met as the college calculates your need to be.
Just remember that these very generous schools accept about 5% of international applicants. You have to pass the admission hurdle to get their great need based aid. This is no easy task for anyone, but it is especially hard for international students.
I hope you are applying to colleges that are in your country that might be more affordable.
If the schools are need aware, then only being able to pay for your own airfare and books certainly can affect admission.
Can people attend school in your country for $2500 USD?
Airfare, books and all the visas. Those visas can be quite expensive to obtain and maintain.
You have not posted your stats on CC and your writing makes me wonder whether you are prepared for an english-based university. I would revise your college list and apply to schools within your home country.
Can people fly to your country for $2500 USD?
@PrimeMeridian yes they can for less than that…
Well then good. If the cost to attend college in your country is within your budget…you should apply there also.
