So I've taken SAT 2 writing twice, and I've gotten sub 700 scores (640, 690) on both tries

How badly will this writing score hurt me if i have 760 chem and 800 math2c?
and should I retake for a THIRD time in december? (not sure if it would even get in on time for some BA/MD though)

btw I was planning on applying to PSU, Case western, Northwestern, Brown

also, the 2 times i took it, i didn't study as much as i should have, and i don't think i'd have that much time to study for the december one either

To see the rest of my stats to better analyze my chances with the sub-par SAT 2 writing, http://www.*************2009/display.php?user=mistaippa

thanks :)

wow this is an old post, but i felt bad no one had answered this question.........hmm, here's my situation. i scored low on my writing as well (720, WHICH IS LOW FOR TOP PROGRAMS--not trying to be a jerk lol), but i figure that the rest of my app isn't all that unimpressive so as to depend solely on my sat ii writing score. my chem and iic were 770 and 790....so i'm safe with those two.....i've seen the rest of ur stats and if i remember correctly, they were lookin pretty--definately apply to the top programs!

I agree. My son is currently in RPI/AMC physician/Scientist program. He had good scores in everything except writing. He is a Junior at RPI right now. His Writing score was 620 and still made it to RPI program. My point is admission committee do see other stuff and give you a chance even if you are lacking in one area.
