If it helps, my school only offers a few APs often only in 11th + 12th, wih rare exceptions of having 10th graders. How ever I am not from France and cannot take AP French. The APs I will not take that my school offers are: AP AB Calc, AP French, AP Art Hist, and AP Euro. Sad isnt it? We only have 8 periods a day, with a total of 6 classes, as 2 periods include lunch and free. Except when I double in sciences, I lose the frees since i have two lab periods a week instead of just one. So I really can only take five classes. Also this is at a top private school and I probably have the most challenging courseload.

My second question is are there really blacklisted schools from Harv? I heard some kid lied at my school and Harv was ****ed. And our old admissions counselor offended them in an email. Bit really... there hasn't really been that many Harvard worthy applicants and those who were, went to Yale or Prince.

That’s it. Your courseload is fine. Worry about more important things.

Are you going into 9th, 10th, or 11th grade? If it’s either of the first two, give your brain a rest from obsessing about Harvard for a year. At least.

I dont really have worries except maximizing my ecs. Im going into tenth and i already get 2200s. I alo scored head writer of newspaper as a frosh and vp of clubs. I just need to finish my volunteer works and do better in my three sports. I only lettered once out of the three.

Oh and I found out just a few days ago on a fathers day lunch that my dad was accepted into harvards gov school but instead went to penn on a scholarship. I Was SOOO ****ED but not like rude or anything. Ughhhh i couldve beem at legacy at harvard >_>

You’ve probably heard this before, but you’re sort of a ******bag, yeah? And you’re hardly a freshman in high school? Also no, Harvard does not blacklist schools – students are judged individually.

Im not a braggart or a ******. Im sry if i came off that way but i was just hoping if you could just analyze the main components of, basically, my “achievements” as a conglomerate to generate a possibly more cohesive understanding of where my stance is as a student applying to harvard. And honestly its annoying when people just say “grades arent everything” blabla as if i didnt know that. Sorry that was rude again but its becoming far too trite IMO.

So, to start off with, you state that you “don’t act like this in real like”. Lets take a few snapshots of your life on CC and what we other members see:

You bad mouth PR because you go to take their free practice tests multiple times and then get irate that they gave you the same free test:
Don’t you think that PR and other test prep companies are aware that there are people like you that hope to benefit from them without ever paying them. I am sure that they limit what is distributed for free. Stop whining.
So you are “mad” at your father for not going to Harvard grad school (which BTW only minimally counts as legacy) but you neglect to be grateful for HIS (not you) dishing out “30 grand” for you to attend a private high school which one minute is “top private” and the next minute “you hate” and put down. Ungrateful maybe?
Lastly, you are an admitted experienced user and therefore probably can answer your own question about course load. As well you have created a new account to disconnect yourself from your previous history which is in violation of TOS. How serious are we supposed to take you?

So first you insult CCers for allegedly scoring lower than you even though they’re older, and now you’re whining for being “attacked” because you’re younger?

Carin, for each quote I posted, I actually read the thread. They are perfectly appropriate out of their context and anyone else can look at your post history and verify this point. I don’t generally read post histories unless there is something questionable about the members posts. Your posts in this thread used language that had to be edited, your story about Harvard and “blacklisting” is an old one (so either that is a common problem or you have told the same story in one of your other names), and general tone led me to look at your history. What is above is only a small fraction of posts I could put up, but I thought these made the point.

As for picking on someone younger, I’m not convinced of your age (for my own reasons) and I’m not picking on you I am only repeating what you have chosen to publicly state.

smoda…you must have no life to have that much time to go through this guy’s posts. Very sad. I still think carin is a ****** bag though. You all are losers

Smoda, don’t mean to be rude, aren’t you a parent? Don’t you have better things (read: job/parenting/spouse/maintaining a home/etc.) to attend to?

I’d be surprised if it took smoda any more than 10 minutes to dig up those posts. Maybe 20 tops.

It’s rather impertinent of you to inform someone else how they could be better spending their time if you don’t have the slightest clue about them or their lives. This is especially true when you have already acknowledged that smoda is a parent and when your posting history indicates that you are not. You don’t think parents can take a 20 minute break from–“maintaining a home”–to post on this website? Give me a break.

Alright, I felt compelled to post here…
The OP is being ridiculous and if you treat the members of CC, why on earth would they help you? Remember that thing called the “golden rule”? If you don’t, your memory must be bad because I thought that you just learned that last year (like kindergarten)?Oh, my bad, you’re in high school; I could not tell by your posts.

That was harsh, and I admit it.
@ OP: If you are as smart as you claim to be, congratulations! You’re very good at taking standardized tests and you deserve some crdit for that. Just don’t act pompous about, especially on a website where people are here to try to assist you. People would do anything for such intelligence, and you should use it wisely.

I know that you are stressing about college because I (sort of) went through a stretch a few months ago where I started to worry that I wasn’t doing enough to be accepted to my dream school. Just chillax a bit because It’s summer, and don’t use such foul language when you don’t even know the person! Would you ever start cussing like that around alumni interviewers, new teachers, or the President for that matter? Likely no.

PS: We shouldn’t be bashing each other for somebody clearly and thoroughly pointing out other’s mistakes because they were apparent. Smoda proved that OP was being waaaay too arrogant and stuck-up when they shouldn’t. Sometimes, people are too intelligent for their own good…like the OP has acted on some threads cleverly found by smoda. Props to smoda, you owned it! ;)

I guess I should take a few minutes to respond.

Shankadatanka - I rarely go through a member’s history unless something is off about the thread or maybe because I remember something inconsistent about the member. I’ve IDed a number of ■■■■■■ that way. and BTW you will find that ■■■■■ hunting can be fun. It is like a mind puzzle. As for going through peoples posts, are you now going to complain about Oikology too? This thread did not state that I am a parent.

Oikology - Yes, anyone that has been on CC for a reasonable length of time knows that I am a parent. Never have I claimed otherwise. Some fantastic advice is given out here on the Harvard forum by parents as well as from current students, alumni and hopefuls. Since my daughter will be attending Harvard next year, I am guessing I will be around for a while. As for my time? S has graduated college, D has graduated high school and I HATE dishes and laundry.

Dwight - Thanks for the words of support.

BTW Oikology, Dwight is one of our rising Harvard attendies who gives out plenty of helpful advice.

Big dreamer - Likewise, thanks

To all, a note. Since Thursday, Carin has stopped posting (at least as Carin). Since Carin’s history has been frequent posts and has admitted that Carin is not his/her first CC name, I bet that Carin is now a new name that will have joined in June and have a relatively low post count (at least at the time of my writing this). The other possibility is that Carin has gone back to one of his/her prior names.

you’re classes are good, but what about your grades and all that?
taking difficult classes do not compensate for low grades
so make your choices wisely :)
