About course descriptions

Hello guys I will be an exchange student and I have a questions about course descriptions.

Location: MW 2-4P, 106 WHEELER

For example on the example above, I assume 106 Wheeler is the building's name/room. What about MW 2-4P? Monday, Wednesday and 2-4 PM ?

Yes, Mon/Wed from 2-4pm

Right. I believe they use Th for thursday and T for tuesday. (If there are two T’s such as “MT***,” You can assume the first T means tuesday and then the second one is for thursday but I’m pretty sure they use “Th” for thursday).

thanks for messages, but I also got another question while searching for courses. It seems like there are some courses start at xx00 hours and others xx30 hours. Some courses have duration of 60 minutes and others 90 minutes? I am a bit confused here.

They use T for Tuesday and T for Thursday because they only want one-letter abbreviations. However, it’s easy to tell which it is simply from the location of the T.

Yes, not every course has to start at zero minutes (or actually 10 minutes for Berkeley time) after the hour. Also, they can be varying lengths - labs, for example, are quite a bit longer than lectures.
