Hello I am sophomore of American high school . My willing major is Economics but I’m not sure what should I do be become qualified to top schools in America. I made my schedule for next year to take AP Economics, AP Calculus AB, AP Biology, Ap Chinese, US 1Honors, and English CPA. I’m also taking MUN, DECA, key club, and ultimate frisbee club as my extracurricular activity. Is there any inner school activity or outer school activity that I have to do to meet requirement of Iv y league schools?
Please focus on HS for now. You’re taking great classes. Econ and Calc especially. That said, don’t spend these four yrs obsessing about the next four yrs. Prepare, plan, great. But also stay PRESENT as your HS years are special too!
You are a sophomore in high school. Its way too early to target a specific major at this point. It’s good that you have an interest in economics but you don’t need to specialize in it now. Take a wide range of interesting courses at the highest level you can and still do well in. Participate in activities that you like. Don’t try to tailor yourself for college.
FWIW, many students change their majors after they get to college. Even students that think they know their majors when they are in high school often discover something new in college and change their minds.
