I am currently a junior deciding which classes to take senior year.
I am currently in AP Calculus AB with an -A/A. Should I take AP Statistics or AP Calculus BC next year? I am planning to major in Politics or Economics in college.
What colleges are you aiming for?
I’m pretty flexible right now, but I’m thinking of applying to some selective schools
If you are doing well in AB (which I think you are, congrats) take BC calc. It’s worth a ton of credit hours in college (usually about 6) and really prepares you for higher-level STEM classes. It could definitely come in handy for econ.
I agree with a Calc BC recommendation.
I concur, Calc BC
I’m not sure how the curriculum at your school works, but for my school the entire first semester of Calc BC is literally just going over AB content. As a result, a lot of BC will just be a repeat of what you’ve already learned. BC is definitely going to come in handy for econ though, so it really depends on what you think is going to be more useful for you.
