Since what grade do your EC's count? For example I did roller hockey in 6th, 7th and 8th grade, should I include this in my application? And if I do, should I mention in what year I did these or should I only mention for how long this was? thanks in advance

Generally, no.

Unless- do you still do roller hockey? If yes, go ahead (if to show passion in something specific), if no, keep it out.
I've got gymnastics, but I'm doing it by years (I have over 10 years), so it seams kind of wasteful not to.

However, even if you still do it, if the app. specifically says grades 9-12 (or 10-12 or whatever), leave it off.

I would avoid mentioning anything you did before high school.

just highschool

Unless you discovered a cure for cancer (extreme, but you understand what I mean), just high school. Same concept on resumes...talk about whats applicable, without sounding like you're just trying to assure everyone you did stuff that, in the end, could look like simple clutter in many cases.

and do colleges check that the information is valid? or they just asume it is?

Depends really. Nobody would doubt you roller hockey in high school. Though they might doubt that you are an international arms dealer who supplies a dozen third world conflict zones with former Soviet small arms if you'd happen to mention it.

Sarcasm overload!
