most people here have posted their grades for their years in high school, and I couldn't help but wonder what the grading system is in each of your schools. Are most of your grades based on 10 point scales (A= 90-100,
B= 80-90, C= 70-80 etc.) or the other scale (A=93-100, B= 85-92, C= 77-83, etc.). I didn't find out till later that there was such a thing as a 10 point scale, and was wondering how prevalent it was.

my school is 92-100 is an A. i know a lot of high schools send grading scales and stuff (which doesn't make a difference if the transcript only says a letter), but they consider applications based on the ease of the school i think.

at my school generally it's by 10s but in harder classes A=100-88 B=88-80 C=80-70. One class I took (AP Bio), an A went down to 75 but it was extremely difficult and almost no one got As even then

how does admissions know the specific rigor of the school when they aren't familiar with the specific teachers themselves?

i'm not sure.... some of it is supposed to come through in the counselor recommendation but i think that's what is hard/sucks for us.
