About provisional admission letter

Hi:

I have already admited in UCLA. Nevertheless, I was kind of worried ~~ about my admission since i received the provisional admission letter from UCLA because i got a D grade on a course in the last spring college semester. The provisional admission letter says that i need to get B or better grade on the summer repeatable course.

Question: !.) if i get a C grade on that repeatable course in summer semester, will UCLA cancel my admission?

Please help !! thanks..!!

well if it asks for "b or better", then yes. and how did you get into ucla with a d?

i feel sad i got a d ! i am hoping i can get a better grade and then recover the grade d. But i still not sure UCLA will count the repeatable grade or both! i am still worried about!!
Are you in UCLA

Dude, just work for the B and you'll be fine. I don't know why you're worrying.

what course was it?...if you don't mind me asking

I'd try to make sure that I got the B in that class. If they stated that you need a B, then more then likely you need a B.

Does anyone have this experience? got a D in last semester!!

I don't see the "B or better" part in my provisional letter, only that you must maintain your gpa, but they might revoke you. We're supposed to send our spring qtr/semester transcripts by 7/15, so they'll see the D before you have a chance to fix it. You should contact UCLA and tell them ASAP. There was one guy on these forums who got 1 A and 5 Cs his last semester, and they revoked him...

What class is it??

That makes a difference. An IGETC requirement? Major requirement?

Did you tell UCLA about the "D" and get permission from UCLA to use a summer repeat?

I'd have plan B (no UCLA) in place since my guess is that you are going to be revoked especially with the other person on the forum getting revoked for 1 A and 5 Cs unless your spring GPA is somehow still greater than 3.0 with that D. What were your other spring grades?

What is your plan B if you don't mind me asking?

Also getting a D is not a good thing. While the provisional contract never did state how big of a drop in grades you need, they do specifically sat that you cannot recieve any D's or F's in Spring semester classes.

i am just so shocked that any UC let you in with a D, esp UCLA. on every UC site, it says C or better in every UC transferable course to be eligible. WOW there are really exceptions to every rule.
get on the phone with your admission officer ASAP!!!! they are the only ones who have real authority in what they tell you about that B or better. not us!!!!
