Hi
I'm quite new to this forum but I have a few questions that I'm dying to know. So, I got into UCLA and UCSD but since the admission is provisional, I'm worried that my gpa last quarter will result in them revoking my acceptance.

Last quarter:
o-chem: C
bio: c
phys: c
diff. calc.: b
cumulative: 3.089

I realize I'm extremely lucky to get in with a relatively low GPA and I'm getting worried. Should the provisional admission be loosely interpreted? A friend told me that we only have to pass our classes with C's (berkeley being an exception) and we'll be fine. Someone please reassure me!!! thanks!

I'm pretty sure the C's will be good for you. NYU told me that as long as I pull off C's for the year i'll be good. Call and ask if your not that sure. I think if you got a D or a F then your in a little bit of a tight spot. Don't fret. and those classes aren't easy.

i think your crazy for taking O-chem, bio , phys and diff calc in 1 semester, so good job on your gpa!

and i am pretty sure for UCSD C's are ok, .. for UCLA ia m not sure but i believe the agreement says "maintain current gpa" ... and i have been wondering about that too, b/c there is no way they would expect you to enter with the EXACT same gpa you applied with. .. so i have been assuming that as long as we pass with a C average we are ok .

i have heard of ppl getting their admission revoked to ucla from 1 d, and then going to, of all places, ucsd... lol... so, i think u should be safe.

Basically, the lady said it depends on the major, so I can only comment on business econ. She said since biz econ is highly competitive it is recommended to keep your GPA as high or higher than your application GPA.

She said this semester will be more strict than usually.

It's important to send in transcripts for this semester ASAP, since it takes 3 weeks for them to respond.

She kinda scared me first, but then I told her my application GPA was a 3.95 and this semester I may get a 3.5 GPA, she then said to try as hard as possible to keep it higher, but 3.5 is still considered a solid GPA and shouldn't jeopardize my admission to UCLA. She also said that it would be obvioulsly to late to go to CAL once the UCLA admission has been revoked.

as long as you pass all your classes with a minimum of C, you are all set for UCSD...SInce you seem to be from a quarter system school, you really dont have to worry as long you have C-'s atleast.....but D and F might get your admissions revoked.

well you can technically, since sometimes schools ask you to reply at different times; i'm still waiting for usc, but am going to send in an sir to ucsd just in case i dont get to sc.

just a quick question...what do you mean by "provisional" admission? Do you mean that actually everyone that is accepted as a transfer to UCs are under "provisional" admission?

Maybe it's just me, but when I found out I was accepted to Berkeley, I was anxious to read everything they had to say on MyBerkeleyApp. I mean, I really wanted to. But even if I didn't want to, I still think I'd at least glance over it.

I afraid my admission to ucla will be revoked too. Cuz I might get 2C's and 1B in this semester. sigh:( One of the class I might get C is not a hard class, and I got high B's and A's in the exams, but the teacher is a son of the bit**. I left my assignment at home and I had already told him, but he put zero on my assignment, which is 20 points. sigh.
