From reading the threads on rutgers pharm school, it seems like sat and gpa are all that matter. is that really true?
i'm VERY interested in this school, but i'm not sure if i stand a chance
I have a 3.8 weighted gpa and an sat score of 2000.
i've taken ap english and ap stat and honors courses, and plan to take ap chem, ap art, ap spanish, ap english, ap calc next year.

my volunteer experience: one summer at the franklin institute and cooper hospital, one at the library, and one at genesis health care.

extracurriculars- 2 years student alliance, one year track, one year chess club

no leadership....

and also, i have no awards. AT ALL. i previewed the rutgers application, and it looks like i'll have to leave the awards section blank, as well as the employment section.

do i stand a chance of getting in?
i'm going to be a senior in high school next year, so this summer, is there anything i can do to boost my chances of getting in?
i'm already volunteering at genesis health care for 2 hours per week.
and i applied to a ton of places for jobs, but got no reply :(
please help!!!

You still stand a chance. I was in the same position as you last summer, before I got into the program. I had pretty much the same SAT score as you and I was also worried if I was going to get in or not. But, I ended up taking the October SAT as a senior and was able to significantly raise my score. That, I believe, was the main factor that helped me to get in.

Your score definitely isn’t bad at all. People are accepted with scores lower than yours. It’s just that that the middle 50% of students who were accepted scored between 2030-2250, and you want to be as qualified as possible before you apply. So my main piece of advice would be to raise your SAT score. I think that a good target would be the 2100+ range, which is certainly doable. Get a few books and practice tests and work on it over this summer. Even if you don’t end up raising it that much in October, I’m sure you could still take it in November or possibly even December. You may even want to consider the ACT too. Everything else seems fine to me. I wouldn’t really stress too much about the rest of stuff. I didn’t have a job either and I think I only had 2 leadership roles at most. Hope I helped!

Gracias!! that really helped. yea, i’m planning on retaking my SAT in october.

supposing that i get my SAT score higher upto 2250 and i meet the rest of the criteria, how much does the presidential scholarship cover? (i’ve heard it covers ALL costs…)
