About SAT score choice

Hi, I was just wondering when Yale says it wants "all scores". Does that mean if I need to send all my subject test scores as well? Thank you!!

If you are sending any SATs, you must send all of them, including subject tests.

So if I took 5 subject tests, but I really just want to send 2 of them, I still need to send all five?

@Crimsonred, Really? This is what you do for entertainment? I had been on a no-snark resolution, but this is too… oh never mind.

haha I didn’t really take 5. But will the university know I didn’t send all my scores? I thought the CB score choice is only for the SAT reasoning test…

This is what Dean of Undergraduate Admissions Jeff Brenzel had to say on the subject:

@skieurope‌ I applied for SCEA. So should I send all my SAT scores again?

If you have not previously submitted them all, yes.

@skieurope‌ I will send them with my Nov SAT. But just wondering, will the university know if you send all your scores ?

OP, what difference would it make to know? Why don’t you ask them?

@Crimsonred, it sounds like you really really don’t want to send one or more SAT II score. I get that - I had to send one score I really didn’t want to send also.
My Dad explained it to me this way: (if you’re lucky) you’re about to embark on a four year relationship with this college. You need to have as much integrity on your end as you expect Yale to have in their dealings with you. If the college started lying to you about their admissions policies, not being transparent or otherwise betraying your trust, you’d be outraged and it would change everything about your experience. Violating an expectation or a score reporting policy, even if you think you can get away with it, is bound to backfire. Sending your less impressive scores, if they are required, will show Yale you have confidence in the process and personal integrity – and that will count for a lot. That’s how I’m looking at it anyway.

@LyricalLacuna‌ , your father stated it well. I might borrow his response in the future :)

I was just really confused because for other No Score Choice schools like U Penn and Stanford, “applicants may use Score Choice to selectively send their SAT Subject Test scores.”

But from the Yale website, I guess I need to send all my subject tests.

The quote is valid for Stanford, but not for Penn, which requires all scores. SAT subject scores are optional at Stanford, which is possibly the reason they do not require all subject tests.
