I've read on the JHU website that the Midyear Report/Teacher Rec/ and SSR must be sent together. Is it okay that the Midyear Report/ Teacher Rec are sent separately? Usually the counselors at my school submit SSRs independent of applications and teacher recommendations. So I don't think it's possible for the SSR to be submitted when the teacher mails the recommendation. It's policy that the student doesn't see the recommendation. I ask because I don't want to have to submit the teacher rec to the guidance department. They aren't very organized and I have no idea when they will actually send the whole package out. Plus I want to give my teacher as much time to write the rec and allow him to mail out the package at his own discretion. Is this acceptable?

We recommend that everything is sent together but this is not required. If you school report, teacher recs, and midyear reports will all be sent separately that is not a problem. Just make sure every document has your full name (spelled the same each time), your birth date, and your high school. Your received documents will be merged to complete your application folder.

This is only for regular decision right?

when do ED applicants have to send in the midyear report, whether they are accepted or deferred?

I think its Febuary 1st, but look on the checklist (in your JHU account)

Thanks very much Daniel

My response was for both ED and RD applicants.

ED applicants will be required to have their school submit the Midyear report by Feb. 1 -- this is true of both admitted ED students as well as those deferred.
