for those who have taken the class, would you say the lectures are substantially helpful or not?

There are a lot of psychology classes. Which one are you talking about?

the very beginning one.

Psych 111 by Schreier

Yes, lecture is helpful.

is it SUBSTANTIALLY helpful?

would it be better to not go and just read the textbook?

Do the Prof cover things that will be on the test more prominently and gloss over the useless info in the textbook that u might know that it is useless if u don’t go to class?

Knowing you on CC, I would recommend you definitely go to lecture. If it was someone else, they might be able to get away with not going, but you should go.

bp2008, did u take this class n did u go to lectures? (just want to know if u have 1st hand experience)

typo: “gloss over the useless info in the textbook that u might know” should be “…that u might NOT know”

I had AP psych credit. Several of friends have told me about the class though.

so it’s not a total blow-off class as i’ve been thinking? it’s actually challenging?

psych 111 is a blow off class. You probably don’t need to go but it might be nice to have an easy class to attend without stress.

What did they say about it?

i have a friend who came got a C last semester in psych 111, but i can’t comment on how rigorous the class is, as ive never taken it here at michigan. But from my past experience with psych(the ap was a joke xD), if u’re good with memorizing things(aka good in cramming), you should do fine.

should have taken with Malley.
