I'm going to be a senior this year and I'm an IB Diploma student.

just finished my first year and I'll be taking the tests in May. So I'll probably be getting college results before I even take the IB tests. In that case what happens? Does the college count me as an IB Diploma student?

and also if I end up getting a lower score on my tests than my predicted scores could that actually withdraw my acceptance to colleges?

youre an IB diploma candidate. your predicted scores dont really matter to American colleges, neither do your IB scores or even whether or not you get the diploma. Only your HL tests can be used for any sort of credit at most, if not all schools

They can only withdraw your acceptance if you really mess up (as in, fail the diploma or something).

A lot of universities in the UK, however, have a different system. They tell you that you need, saw 667 in your HLs to be accepted. If you don't achieve that, you don't get in. Luckily for you, US schools don't take it to that level.

US schools don't really care (as long as you don't get like all 2's or something). The important thing is you take the classes and do well in them. Doing well on the actual tests and receiving the diploma are bonuses because you can get college credit.

Good luck. I received my diploma this year and definately think IB was worth it.

US schools withdraw acceptances based on major screw ups on final transcript -- not IB scores. If a school withdrew acceptances based on an IB exam score, it would be the same as withdrawing acceptance based on an AP score. Schools definitely don't do that. Getting a poor grade on an IB test is like getting a poor grade on an AP test -- you don't get the credit for that test.
Some schools will let students take IB classes without being diploma candidates. In that case, they get a certificate for an HL test like a single AP score.
Good luck. My daughter just got her scores and got her diploma. She wants to study abroad and definitley thinks it was worth it.
Don't fret. And GOOD LUCK!
